
GEOmuseum and the GEOvr NORA projects – Magma UNESCO Global Geopark
The GEOmuseum and the GEOvr NORA projects, lead by Magma UNESCO Global Geopark and financed in the last round within the Nordisk Kulturfond and Nordci Atlantic Cooperation started the 18th August in Katla UNESCO Global Geopark, Iceland.
Katla is partner of the project together with Jarðfeingi Faroese Earth and Energy Directorate – Faroe Islands – Denmark and Ilulissat Icefjord UNESCO World Heritage Site (Greenland). The GEOmuseum aims to valorize and disseminate the geological and cultural heritage of the Nordic Countries within educational and cultural itineraries displayed in the partner´s exhibition center. The main outcome of the project will be setting up GEOmuseum branded module to be duplicated in the Geoparks around the World. The project outcome will be the organization of four pilot GEOmuseum for the dissemination of the cultural heritage and the geological common processes of the Nordic Countries involved. The GEOmuseum will be provided with a geoVR virtual corner provided with equipment for an immersive unique experience around Europe that can be join by each Geopark.
