Karavanke/Karawanken Geopark celebrates its EGN/GGN Membership

On 1st of October a very successful  welcome-ceremony took place at the Austrian part of the Karavanke/Karawanken Geopark to celebrate its inscription in EGN/GGN. At the ceremony together with the Geopark Authorities was the regional governor of Carinthia Dr. Peter Kaiser.

All municipalities and strategic partners of the Geopark where present and the Geopark authorities presented the Karavanke/Karawanken Geopark initiative and also EGN and GGN Initiative.

Dr. Peter Kaiser promised his full support to the Karavanke/Karawanken Geopark.

As one point of this ceremony we delivered with the governor of Carinthia Dr. Peter Kaiser and the two representatives of our Geopark organisation, the mayors Gerhard Visotschnig from Austria and Dusan Krebel from Slovenia, a copy of the certification of the Karavanke/Karawanken Geopark EGN-Membership to all municipalities.

At the Karavanke/Karawanken Geopark ceremony was also present  Dr. Köck from the Austrian Academy of Sciences, responsible for IGCP an also for Austrian Geoparks in the name of the Austrian national UNESCO commission.
