The official launching of the “georoute” in the Geopark Chablais
The official launching of the “georoute” in the Geopark Chablais took place on Saturday, September 14th in the Castle of Allinges ( 74200 Allinges – France).
The President of the SIAC, Mr Fillion, was very proud to celebrate the launching of the “georoute” in the presence of many local figures and partners of this project.
The Vice-President, Mr Meynet, in charge of Geopark Chablais then spoke to present the history, the context and the important work done to realise this project. The “georoute”, genuine tool for the discovery of the territory of Chablais, gathers 23 sites among which 20 classified Sensitive Natural Spaces (Conseil Général de la Haute-Savoie).
To understand the history of the formation of the Alps, to change our look on the landscape and apprehend the local natural riches are the objectives of this concrete, structuring and transversal project.
In the afternoon, a part of the Chablais remarkable “geosites” was presented to the public through guided tours experts in the Chablais geology.
