Basque Coast Global Geopark will host the Spanish National Congress on Geoheritage

This important meeting will bring together more than 120 experts on geoheritage from Spain, Portugal and several latin american countries between June 9th and 13th.
Basque Coast Global Geopark is already involved in the organization of the XI national congress of the Geoheritage Commission of the Geological Society of Spain. This meeting is organized every two years and represent on of the most relevant meetings for spanish spoken countries regarding geoheritage. The main aim of this meeting is to show the potential and utility of Geoparks to work with geological heritage worldwide and to show how this management can lead to a local development.
The congress will be held in the theater of Zumaia. During the congress, all the participants will have the chance to hear interesting and pensive conferences from relevant personalities, participate in the oral and poster session with more than 90 communications and make a full visit to the Basque Coast Global Geopark, as well as participate in a previous intensive course on geological heritage and geopark.
All the members of the EGN and GGN are welcome.
